Grand Forks, N.D. - North Dakota will host Abilene Christian for the first time in school history this weekend. Kickoff between UND and ACU is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday inside the Alerus Center. The game will be televised on Midco Sports Two and available on the Home of Economy Radio Network with the pregame show starting at 2 p.m.

The Fighting Hawks enter the weekend with a 4-3 record and a 3-2 standing in the MVFC. Last week, North Dakota stumbled against No. 1 South Dakota State, 49-35. UND led 21-14 at intermission but was outscored 35-14 in the second half to allow SDSU to leave victorious on Saturday. It was only the second loss inside the Alerus Center for North Dakota in its last 19 games.

The Wildcats come to Grand Forks with a record of 5-2 and 2-0 mark in the WAC. Before the bye last weekend, Abilene Christian defeated Southern Utah by a tally of 21-18. ACU used a first quarter fake punt and a 46-yard run by Peyton Mansell, a couple of big plays on the offensive side of the ball and a momentum-shifting interception by Elijah Moffett to secure the 21-18 home victory. With the win, ACU is off to its best start in its Division I era (since 2013) and best overall start since 2011.

North Dakota and Abilene Christian have never met on the gridiron. UND and ACU agreed to the game on Dec. 16, 2021 and it replaced the previously scheduled home game against Dixie State (now named Utah Tech). NoDak is 10-6 in its history against opponents from the WAC.
