Pacific Upends North Dakota, 93-63

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – North Dakota fell 93-63 to Pacific on Tuesday evening at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

Luke Avdalovic led the Tigers (2-1) with 19 points, going 5-for-5 from deep. He also hauled in three boards.

Jordan Ivy-Curry made seven of his 10 shots and netted 16 points. Cam Denson made all three of his attempted triples and finished with 16.

Matt Norman paced the Fighting Hawks (1-2), pouring in 18 points and scoring 15 of them in the second half alone.

Tsotne Tsartsidze netted 12 points to go with a game-high seven rebounds. B.J. Omot was also in double figures for UND with 11.

Pacific shot 62.3 percent in the game, going 38-for-61 from the field. UP also knocked down 11 triples and shot 60.0 percent (6-of-10) at the charity stripe. Comparatively, North Dakota hit at 36.5
percent (23-for-63), while adding eight makes from deep and going 9-of-21 at the line.

The Tiger bench outscored the Fighting Hawk reserves by a 46-22 margin. UP also held a 38-28 advantage in the paint, while UND had a 39-30 edge in rebounds.

North Dakota led 7-2 early but a 28-6 run for Pacific gave the Tigers a 30-13 lead with 7:24 to go before halftime. UND would get within eight at 32-24 with under four minutes before the half but another 10-2 run for Pacific gave it a 42-26 lead at intermission.

In the second half, Pacific led by as many as 37 points (76-39) with 9:20 left in the game. UND would make a couple runs late in the game but it was not enough, as UP won 93-63.

North Dakota will visit Elon at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Fans can watch the game between the Fighting Hawks and the Phoenix on FloHoops and the game will also be carried on the Home of Economy Radio Network.
