Steeple Crew Leads UND at NC State, Action Resumes at Three Meets

The North Dakota track and field teams wrapped up action at the Texas Relays on Friday, while also continuing competition at the Raleigh Relays and Bobcat Invitational on Friday afternoon. The Hawks recorded three improvements on the UND top-10 list, highlighted by both steeplechase sections recording improvements at North Carolina State.

Luke Labatte ran a personal-best time of 9:01.78 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays, improving his school record time by over six seconds.

In the women's section of the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Jadyn Keeler clocked a time of 11:08.01, good for the third-fastest steeplechase time in program history.

On the track at the Bobcat Invitational, Mackenzie Severson ran a PR time of 1:03.75 in the 400-meter hurdles to record the No. 10 time in school history.

Also at the Bobcat Invitational, Jennifer Parent took seventh in the long jump with a leap of 19-1 1/2 (5.83m).

The Fighting Hawks also set a pair of personal-records at the Bobcat Invitational that came close to cracking the UND all-time top-10 list. Erica Benson led UND in the 200 meters with a PR time of 25.68, missing out on the UND top-10 chart by less than half a second. Mitchel Wangler also came close to the UND top-10 list in the 400-meter hurdles, running a personal-best time of 56.88 and missing the chart by less than 2.4 seconds.

At the Texas Relays, Aleece Durbin ran a time of 12.55 in the preliminary round of the 100 meters, barely missing the all-time program top-10 list by 0.26 seconds.

North Dakota will wrap up action on Saturday at both the Bobcat Invitational and Raleigh Relays. Live results for all meets can be followed on FightingHawks.com.
