NOTES: Fighting Hawks Host the Bison

The Fighting Hawks battled the Tommies this past weekend.  They fell to St. Thomas on the first day with a 6-2 loss in the first game and 7-0 loss in the second game. North Dakota was able to take the third game with a 5-3 win to end the weekend 3-12 in conference play and to move to 13-34 for the regular season. 

The Fighting Hawks return home to host the North Dakota State Bison. The series will begin with a doubleheader on Saturday at noon. The two teams will then finish the series on Sunday at 11 AM. 

With the movement of the USD series to Vermillion, UND has added three more games away from Apollo. The Fighting Hawks have played 38 straight away games since the season began. By the time the season is over, and it is all said and done, the green and white will have played 47 games away from Grand Forks.

» North Dakota State currently leads the series between the two rivals.

» The last time the two teams faced each other was last season. They played four games against each other. The Bison took three of the four games, but the first one went to 11 innings.

About the Opponent

» The Bison currently sit at a 25-19 record. They are currently sitting at a 7-6 record in conference play.

» NDSU has only swept Kansas City and Western Illinois in conference play. They have also only won the series against those two as they lost it to USD, Omaha, and SDSU.
