GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Seven teams that made it to the postseason, including four 2021-22 NCAA Tournament teams highlight North Dakota's 2022-23 non-conference schedule, released Tuesday afternoon.
A total of 13 non-conference games make up the schedule, with seven home games appearing on the slate.
The Fighting Hawks will open the season on the road, visiting Incarnate Word for the first time in school history on Monday, Nov. 7.
Three days later, UND will receive its first major test of the season, playing at Creighton on Thursday, Nov. 10. Last year the Bluejays reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
NoDak will have its first home game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 15, playing Pacific. Two days later, the Hawks play at Elon and square off with the Phoenix for the first time in school history.
North Dakota will then return to the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center for a four-game homestand. The week will begin with 2021-22 NCAA Tournament team Montana State on Sunday, Nov. 20. Next, the Hawks host UW Stout for the first time in history on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
The Fighting Hawks close out the homestand with a holiday tournament, hosting Utah Tech on Friday, Nov. 25. Two days later, UND will play 2021-22 NCAA Tournament team Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 27).
November will close with another test for NoDak, with the team visiting Ames, Iowa, to play Iowa State on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
The month of December begins with another team that made the postseason last year in Portland. The Fighting Hawks and Pilots will tangle for the second time in program history on Saturday, Dec. 3.
The final game of the non-conference road slate will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 6, when the Hawks fly west to play Idaho.
North Dakota closes out the non-conference schedule the following week, hosting the WAC Regular Season Champions, Seattle, on Saturday, Dec. 10. The Fighting Hawks and Redhawks have never met on the basketball court.
The last game of non-conference play will take place on Monday, Dec. 12, with North Central (Minn.), who reached the UMAC Quarterfinals a season ago, visiting the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
