NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the top academic cross country teams of the 2022 season on Thursday. Both the North Dakota men's and women's squads earned spots on the list.
The UND women compiled a team grade-point average of 3.861. The team has shined academically in the classroom this year, with UND women's cross country also putting together the best GPA of the department last semester.
The NoDak men earned a spot on the list with a team GPA of 3.565. Most recently in the classroom, the team put together a fall semester GPA of 3.590 with four student-athletes earning perfect 4.0's.
In order to qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
Members of the Fighting Hawk cross country programs will compete at the UND Open inside the Pollard Athletic Center on Friday and Saturday.
