SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- North Dakota sophomore forward B.J. Omot captured his first Summit League Men's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season and his career, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Omot stood out in the game at Nebraska on Dec. 20 with 21 points, second only to Tyree Ihenacho's 22, and a team-high eight rebounds. He remains the top scorer for the Fighting Hawks with 16.5 points per game, which is the fifth most in the Summit League.
Additionally, Omot came up with a steal, a blocked shot and an assist as UND gave the Cornhuskers all they could handle in Lincoln against a Nebraska team that came into the game 9-2.
North Dakota will open its Summit League slate on Friday at the Betty with a 7 p.m. tip off against St. Thomas. Fans can catch the action on CBSSN or the Home of Economy Radio Network.
