Hawks take down Golden Eagles in high-flying affair, 108-100

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks (16-9, 9-6 SL) take home a huge win against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (11-15, 8-7 SL), 108-100 in highest scoring game against a division one opponent.

November 26, 2019 in a 118- 35 win over Northland College at home and the last time UND has hit the century mark, a span of 1188 days. The Fighting Hawks have never it that mark in Summit league play until today.

Kacie Borowicz led with 27 pts and 11 assists for her second double-double. She also had six rebounds and four steals.

Juliet Gordon had 17 pts and six rebounds.

Claire Orth had 17 pts and three steals.

Nakiyah Hurst had 13 points.

Maggie Manson had four steals and 11 points.

Sammiyah Hoskin had 11 points.

In the third highest scoring game in the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center, North Dakota had six players in double digits. The first quarter, Oral Roberts came out cooking going on a 11-4 run in the first two and half minutes of the game which caused Head coach Mallory Bernhard to call timeout. NoDak fought back to end the quarter down three. In the second quarter the Hawks would tie it up at 30-30 while the Golden Eagles would fight to maintain their lead. However, UND persisted to take a slim two-point lead into the halftime.
The third quarter Kacie Borowicz came out and hit a jump shot in the first 13 seconds. North Dakota kept the pressure and didn't let up the pace and outscored ORU by nine points in the 3rd. Claire Orth would make the game 100-85 with 5 minutes and 29 seconds left on two made free throws. Oral Roberts forced North Dakota to play rough defense closing the gap to eight in the final seconds of the game.
North Dakota will continue Summit League play on Saturday, taking on Kansas City at 1 PM. The game will air on Midco Sports and will be carried on the Home of Economy Radio Network.
