LUBBOCK, Texas – The North Dakota Softball team dropped their first game of the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic to Texas Tech 13-5. Makaela Carr (1-3) took the loss while Sage Hoover (7-0) picked up the win.

Key Points

• In the top of the fifth UND had five straight hits as Madi Moore, Isabella Haslett and Cassie Castaneda all singled before Madison Pederson hit one over the fence for a grand slam. Mariah Peters followed with a solo home run.
• Katie Joten and Logan Gronberg also picked up singles.
• Jackie Albrecht struck out four batters in 2.2 innings of relief inning work.
