MOORHEAD, Minn./DES MOINES, Iowa – North Dakota piled up seven event wins at the Ron Masanz Classic on Saturday, while
Natalie Mohring placed fifth at Drake in the hammer throw. Unattached Fighting Hawks also won two titles at the Ron Masanz Classic.
Elise Ulseth led the way for the Fighting Hawks, piling up three event titles at Minnesota State-Moorhead. Ulseth began the day in the long jump and won the crown with a leap of 19-0 3/4 (5.81m). Less than an hour later, she won the high jump title with a clearance of 5-6 (1.68m). She concluded the day in the 100-meter hurdles and won that event with a time of 14.34.
Malene Kollberg was also in the 100-meter hurdles and posted a PR time of 14.37, giving her the runner-up finish and improving her No. 4 time on the UND top-10 list.
Austin Wolf was victorious in the high jump, winning the event with a height of 6-8 1/4 (2.04m).
Maguire Petersen was also in the high jump and put down the No. 6 clearance in school history with a height of 6-4 1/4 (1.94), good for the third in the event.
Harris Maclean picked up his first win as a Fighting Hawk, taking the pole vault title with a personal-best of 15-1 (4.60m).
UND swept the 400-meter titles on the track.
Jory Vasek won the men's section with a time of 50.36, while
Jerzie Finstad took the win in the women's race with a time of 57.64.
A pair of unattached Fighting Hawks also claimed titles, with
Jadyn Keeler winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:00.14) and
Tiffanie Magnusson claiming the 400-meter title (1:06.64).
Mohring was the top finisher for UND at the Drake Relays on Saturday, placing fifth in the hammer throw with a toss of 175-10 (53.60m).
North Dakota will conclude the regular season on Friday, visiting Fargo for the NDSU Tune-Up.
