GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Elise Ulseth will travel to Austin, Texas, this week to compete in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The heptathlon portion of the National Championships will take place on Friday and Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Ulseth will be the lone combined events student-athlete representing the Summit League at the National Championships and she will begin action on Friday, starting with the 100-meter hurdles at 2:45 p.m., followed by the high jump at 3:45 p.m., shot put at 5:45 p.m. and 200 meters at 9:43 p.m. She will resume the heptathlon on Saturday with the long jump at 4 p.m., javelin at 5:15 p.m. and heptathlon at 9:43 p.m. All times listed are central.

The Norwegian native enters the meet with the No. 20 heptathlon score nationally with 5,676 points. Her point total from the Bryan Clay Invitational earlier this season is the mark that qualified her for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, where she came only 10 points shy of breaking her own school record.

Student-Athletes that finish in the top 24 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships will secure All-America honors, with the top-eight finishers earning First Team All-America status. Second Team All-America accolades will go to student-athletes that finish between ninth and 16th place. Any student-athletes who finish between 17th and 24th will gain honorable mention accolades.

ESPN will provide live stream coverage of select portions of the meet on ESPN+, with dedicated streams for five of the seven heptathlon events. Each night of the National Championships will also have coverage airing on ESPN2, with both the heptathlon 200 meters and heptathlon 800 meters having a chance of airing on their respective nights.

Live results of the NCAA Outdoor Championships will be provided by Flash Results.

Ulseth's Recent Marks
Ulseth's runner-up finish in her section of the heptathlon at the Bryan Clay Invitational earlier this season qualified her for the National Championship meet. At Bryan Clay, Ulseth piled up 5,676 points, coming only 10 points shy of breaking her own school record.

At the NCAA West Preliminary Round, Ulseth took 33rd in the long jump with a wind-aided leap of 19-4 3/4 (5.91m). Her finish was a six-spot improvement from her 39th place finish (19-2 1/2, 5.85m) at the meet in 2022. She remains the only Fighting Hawk in UND's Division I history to compete in the long jump at the NCAA Regional.

Two weeks prior, Ulseth earned All-Summit League honors and was the silver medalist in the long jump, placing second at the conference meet with a jump of 20-2 1/4 (6.15m). It was the fourth All-Summit League performance of Ulseth's career.

Last season, Ulseth made school history, becoming the first combined events athlete in UND history to compete at a National Championship event. She earned honorable mention All-America status in the heptathlon at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships, finishing 17th with 5,362 points.
