GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota softball team has announced the signing of former Rhode Island outfielder Annabeth Carlberg. The former Ram hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba and joins the Fighting Hawks after one year in Kingston.

This spring she appeared in eight games for URI, all as a pinch hitter. She went 3-7 from the plate with a double, a walk and six RBIs. Each of her three hits, two singles and a double, produced two RBI each. She knocked a two RBI double in a loss to Dayton, while helping the Rams knock off Massachusetts with a two RBI single and helped URI sweep St. Bonaventure with a two RBI double.

Coach Jordan Stevens said, "We're excited to bring Annabeth into the fold. Having already had DI experience and performing in the opportunities she received we think she'll be able to transition well into the Summit League. She also competed with some of the best club teams in Canada and won multiple provincial championships in her amateur career. Can't wait to see her on the field at UND!"
