ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Six North Dakota student-athletes were selected to the All-MVFC Teams, the league offices announced Monday. Nominations were submitted by each school's sports information director and voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, SID's and select media members.
Bo Belquist and
Devin Hembry headlined the All-MVFC Team, both earning first team honors.
Jaden Norby garnered second team status, while three other Fighting Hawks received honorable mention accolades.
Bo Belquist, WR, 5th, New Rockford, N.D., First Team WR
Started 11 games at wide receiver and appeared in every game … Ranks No. 12 nationally in receiving touchdowns (10) and No. 26 in receiving yards (932) … Leads the MVFC in receiving touchdowns (10) and receiving yards per game (77.7) … No. 2 in the conference in both total receiving yards (932) and receptions per game (5.4), is No. 10 in yards per reception (14.4) and No. 12 in all-purpose yards per game (87.3) … Ties for No. 9 in the league in total touchdowns (10) and No. 19 in points per game (5.0) … UND's all-time record holder in career receptions (271) … Had four games of 100+ yards receiving … Served as a team captain.
Devin Hembry, DB, 5th, Muskogee, Okla., First Team DB
Started all 12 games at defensive back … Defended only 1.0 passes per game, making him the No. 3 pass defender in the MVFC … Ties for No. 3 in the conference in interceptions per game (0.3) and ties for the league-lead in passes defended (12) … Leads the conference in interception return yards (108) … Leads the team in both interceptions (3) and pass breakups (9) … Fifth on the team in total tackles (40.0) and solo stops (29) … Recorded a 92-yard pick-six in the 52-28 win over Idaho State.
Jaden Norby, FB/TE, Sr., Ashby, Minn., Second Team FB
Started nine games at fullback or tight end and played in every game while also appearing on special teams … Hauled in four catches for 19 yards … His blocking helped UND rank No. 13 in the in the FCS in red-zone scoring (89.6 percent), No. 18 in third down conversion percentage (45.6 percent), No. 20 in time of possession (31:32) and No. 25 in rushing offense (186.9 yards per game) … Helped NoDak put up over 400 yards of offense three times, highlighted by 601 yards in the 72-35 win over Murray State … Had a 13-yard kick return at Youngstown State … Recorded a solo stop at Iowa State … Served as a team captain.
Seth Anderson, OL, Sr., Moorhead, Minn., Honorable Mention OL
Started all 12 games at right tackle … His blocking helped North Dakota rank No. 13 nationally in red-zone scoring (89.6 percent), No. 18 in third down conversion percentage (45.6 percent), No. 20 in time of possession (31:32) and No. 25 in rushing offense (186.9 yards per game) … Helped UND pile up over 400 yards of offense three times, highlighted by 601 yards against Murray State … Named the MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 30 after the 72-35 win over the Racers … Had a tackle in the 41-24 victory over San Diego.
Josh Navratil, LB, Gr., Pine Island, Minn., Honorable Mention LB
Started all 12 games at linebacker … Ties for No. 14 in the FCS and No. 2 in the MVFC in forced fumbles per game (0.3) … Sits No. 5 in the conference in sacks (0.5) and ties for No. 7 in fumbles recovered (1) … Leads the team in tackles-for-loss (10.5), sacks (6.0), forced fumbles (3) and quarterback hurries (8) … Third on the team in total tackles (55.0) … Had a pair of sacks in the 27-24 win over No. 4 Montana … Named the MVFC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 23 after recording five tackles (four solo), a sack, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the 41-24 victory against San Diego … Put down a career-best 10 total tackles at Illinois State … Served as a team captain.
C.J. Elrichs, K, So., Olathe, Kan., Honorable Mention PK
Appeared in all 12 games at kicker … Leads the MVFC in field goals per game (1.2), is No. 3 in field goal percentage (73.7) and ties for No. 6 in points per game (7.2) … Went 14-for-19 kicking and made a career-long 47-yard field goal in the 31-7 win over Northern Iowa … Was 3-for-4 on kicks from 40+ yards out … Named the MVFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 9 after going 2-for-2 on field goal attempts and drilling the 40-yard game-winner in the 27-24 win over No. 4 Montana … Went 44-for-45 on extra point attempts … Recorded 35 kickoffs for 2,140 yards … Averaged 61.1 yards per kickoff.
The league will reveal the MVFC All-Newcomer Team on Tuesday.
