Hawks Place Four Times on Final Day of Ben Brown Invitational

FULLERTON, Calif. – North Dakota concluded its stay in California on Saturday by placing four times and posting three improvements to the UND top-10 list at the Ben Brown Invitational.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Caleb Severson, Michael Mallory, Maxwell Roller and Jory Vasek were the first Fighting Hawks to take the track and clocked a time of 42.45, which was good for the No. 10 time in school history. The relay team finished just outside placing territory at the meet and was ninth.

UND also placed twice in the women's 4x100-meter relay. The squad of Nadia Evans, Jerzie Finstad, Patricija Grosberga and Alimath Salou placed fifth with a time of 48.64. The team of Malene Kollberg, Tiffanie Magnusson, Elle Thorson and Jenna Koppelsloen was right behind them and finished sixth in 48.98.

Malene Kollberg took sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.32.

Eve Goldstein placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 44-7 (13.59m).

James Weninger and Trenton Hanseder both added their names to the UND top-10 list in their respective events. Weninger tied the No. 7 height in school history with a high jump clearance of 6-3 1/4 (1.91m), while Hanseder put down the No. 8 leap in school history in the triple jump with a mark of 44-7 1/2 (13.60m).

Kimberly Hitchen was just outside placing territory in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing ninth with a time of 1:07.31.

North Dakota will have next weekend off before traveling to Mississippi for the Ole Miss Classic on March 22-23.

Post-Meet Notes
* Jadyn Keeler (3,000-meter steeplechase), Aleksa Milanovic (1,500 meters) and Eucabeth Kivikangas (javelin) each won a title at the Ben Brown Invitational.
* Keeler's time of 10:42.85 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Friday broke her previous school record of 10:46.45, which she set at the 2022 Summit League Outdoor Championships. She also set a new Ben Brown Invitational meet record with her time, breaking the record of Helena Valentic (CSU Bakersfield), who set it at 11:25.58 last season.
* After adding three upgrades to the UND top-10 list on Saturday, the Fighting Hawks finished the meet with nine improvements to the UND top-10 list.
* Over the two-day meet, North Dakota placed 19 times.
