BISMARCK, N.D. – In a meet that was added less than 24 hours ago due to the cancellation of the Ron Masanz Classic, North Dakota captured 10 titles and posted four upgrades to the UND top-10 list at the U-Mary Classic on Thursday.
Maguire Petersen was the top field athlete at the meet and recorded two event wins. He won the pole vault crown with a personal-best clearance of 14-1 1/4 (4.30m) and was also victorious in the long jump with a PR leap of 23-11 (7.29m). With his personal-best mark in the long jump, he moved up from No. 7 to No. 3 on the UND top-10 list.
Brenna Barnick captured the first two titles of her collegiate career. She was the first Fighting Hawk to win gold at the meet and won 1,500 meters with a time of 4:56.51. Less than two hours later, she also captured the 800-meter title in 2:27.11.
UND earned both titles in the women's hurdles.
Marta Marksa had her first win in a Fighting Hawk uniform, getting the title in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.14.
Malene Kollberg was victorious in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.09.
Caleb Severson won the 100-meter title, clocking a time of 10.71.
North Dakota also won the crown in two throwing events.
Justina Esangbedo earned the shot put title with a toss of 43-9 3/4 (13.35m), while
Kaylynn Red Tomahawk got the gold in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 169-7 (51.69m).
Trenton Hanseder was the final Fighting Hawk to record an event win at the meet and won the triple jump with a personal-best leap of 45-9 3/4 (13.96m). With his PR, he not only captured the title but moved up to No. 5 in the event in program history.

* At the beginning of the meet, the 4x100-meter relay team of

Maxwell Roller placed third in a time of 41.93. That time moved the relay team up to No. 5 on the UND top-10 list.
* Roller also clocked a personal-best time of 21.77 in the 200 meters later in the meet, which was good for the No. 6 time in school history.
* Petersen was not only victorious in the long jump with a PR leap of 23-11 (7.29m), but also moved up to No. 3 in UND history in the event.
* Hanseder captured the triple jump title and moved up to No. 5 in school history with a personal-best leap of 45-9 3/4 (13.96m).
