GRAND FORKS, N.D. - No. 8/10 North Dakota will square off with South Dakota inside the DakotaDome this Saturday. Kickoff between the Fighting Hawks and Coyotes is set for 1 p.m. The game will be televised on Midco Sports. It will also be carried on the Fighting Hawks Radio Network with a pregame show starting at Noon.
North Dakota enters the game at 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the MVFC after routing Indiana State, 46-17, inside the Alerus Center last weekend. Jerry Kaminski was an impressive 22-for-34 passing for 300 yards and four scores in the win, while surrendering one interception. Caden Dennis was his favorite target and logged career-highs in both receptions (5) and yards (97) while pulling in one touchdown. Sawyer Seidl put together his third consecutive 100-yard rushing game and led the backfield with 14 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown. UND's defense also showed out in the win, registering 6.0 sacks and 11.0 tackles-for-loss to go with three interceptions.
South Dakota comes into the contest with a 5-4 standing overall and a 5-4 mark in league play, following a 21-13 home loss to No. 18/20 Illinois State last Saturday. Aidan Bouman went 21-for-38 through the air for 173 yards and a touchdown in the loss, while Larenzo Fenner was the top receiver with four grabs for 65 yards. Jesse Miller also caught an 11-yard touchdown pass. L.J. Phillips Jr. paced the backfield with 26 carries for 129 yards. Will Leyland connected on both his field goal tries and hit from 37 and 42 yards out in the loss.
This will be the 103rd meeting all-time between North Dakota and South Dakota. In games played inside the DakotaDome in the series, the Coyotes hold a 25-22-3 series lead. The last win for North Dakota in Vermillion was a 34-31 overtime victory on Nov. 23, 2008.
