ST. LOUIS, Mo. – North Dakota quarterback
Jerry Kaminski was named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Kaminski was an impressive 20-for-23 passing for 246 yards and four scores in North Dakota's 35-7 win at Northern Iowa on Saturday. He also completed a pass to himself in the third quarter, which was possible when the ball was deflected by a defender and then caught by Kaminski and returned for a two-yard completion. He finished the game with completions to 10 receivers (including himself) and had passing touchdowns to four different players. Kaminski also contributed five rushes for 35 yards and was not sacked in the contest.
The Sun Prairie, Wis., native has thrown completions to at least nine Fighting Hawks in every game so far this season. The win was UND's 100th victory in the Division I era and marked NoDak's first win in the UNI-Dome since a 35-31 thriller on Sept. 9, 2006.
No. 13/12 North Dakota will host No. RV/20 Youngstown State at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be televised on Midco Sports and carried on the Fighting Hawks Radio Network.
