Hawks welcome Garrett Anderson to 2025-26 roster

UND adds former Central Washington, San Jose State product

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota men's basketball head coach Paul Sather has announced the addition of Garrett Anderson for the 2025-26 season. The Fighting Hawks signed the Phoenix, Arizona native on Tuesday, May 6. Anderson joins a 2025-26 UND recruiting class that includes prep standouts Marley and Micah Curtis of St. Louis Park, Minnesota (St. Louis Park HS), Horace, North Dakota native (Kindred HS) Karson Ouse and Hopkins, Minnesota native (Hopkins HS) Anthony Smith III. He also joins fellow four-year transfers Wylee Delorme (UMary) of Devils Lake, North Dakota and Josh Jones (Oral Roberts) of Austin, Texas.

Central Washington (2024-25): Unanimous All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference First Team performer…2x GNAC Player of the Week (12/2/24 & 2/10/25)…Played in 32 games at 26.8 mpg…Scored 459 points averaging 14.34 per game…Eight 20-point games with a 39-point effort vs. Jessup (11/22) and a 34-point effort vs. Western Oregon (2/20)…Shot 49.2% from the floor (178-of-362)…Shot 41.2% from 3pt range (54-of-131)…75% (49-of-65) shooter from the free throw line…Grabbed 171 rebounds averaging 5.34 per game…Posted double doubles against Vanguard & Chico State…Added 48 assists, 24 steals and 19 blocks…
 
San Jose State (2022-23, 2023-24): Played in 54 games over two seasons averaging just over 10 minutes per game for the Mountain West's Spartans…made 51 total shots at 32.6%...Sank 19 three-point shots…Totaled 133 points, 60 rebounds, 13 assists, 16 steals and six blocks…
 
Prep: 6A Arizona Player of the Year…First Team All-State as a senior…Averaged 20 and 10 in his final high school season…Competed with Arizona Select on the AAU circuit…Switched to basketball from baseball (low 90s fastball) after hitting a growth spurt (5-8 to 6-3) between his freshman and sophomore seasons…
 
Personal: Mom was a two-sport athlete at Northern Arizona in volleyball and track & field and was inducted into the NAU Athletics Hall of Fame ... Says his hidden talent is pickleball ... Favorite NBA player growing up was Penny Hardaway…
