GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota Athletic Director
Bill Chaves has accepted an appointment to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee.
"This opportunity comes with great responsibility for both FCS football and the Missouri Football Valley Conference," Chaves said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues from around the country to continue to elevate this amazing NCAA championship."
The NCAA Division I Football Championship features a 24-team, single-elimination tournament. Of those 24 teams, 10 conference champions receive automatic bids, while the remaining 14 teams are selected at large by the Division I FCS Playoff Committee. The committee includes one representative from each conference that is eligible for and applies for automatic qualification.
Chaves will represent the Missouri Valley Football Conference on the FCS Playoff Committee. His term will begin June 2, 2025, and run through Aug. 31, 2029.
