Fighting Hawks Fall 7-0 at Nebraska

Box Score LINCOLN, Neb. – North Dakota women's tennis dropped a 7-0 decision against Nebraska on Sunday afternoon inside the Sid and Hazel Dillon Tennis Center.
 
The Huskers jumped out to the 1-0 early lead after claiming the doubles point via wins on the No. 2 and No. 1 courts. Alva Norberg and Linn Svaerd fell first, 6-2, before Ethel Li and Jule Schulte dropped from the top spot, 6-3. UND's pair of Emma Roberts and Simone Cameron held a 5-2 lead from the No. 3 spot but the match went unfinished.
 
Nebraska's sweep of singles play began with a 6-0, 6-2 win from the No. 5 court and 6-1, 6-0 win at the third spot. 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-0 victories soon followed from the fourth and sixth courts, respectively, to secure the crucial fourth team point.
 
Action on the top courts culminated in a 6-2, 6-1 win for the home team as Schulte lodged into battle at the No. 2 spot. She took a dominant 6-1 first set before ultimately falling 1-6 in the second and 10-4 in the super tiebreak.
 
North Dakota women's tennis will be back in action on Monday afternoon with a 12 p.m. contest at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D.
