SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The North Dakota softball team fell to Fordham on Sunday by a score of 5-0 in the final game of the Campbell/Cartier Classic from SDSU Softball Stadium. UND falls to 3-7, while Fordham improves to 3-7.
UND had just two base runners the whole game, via walks from
Camryn Lasota and Grayce Beck. Tegan Livesay got the ball in the circle, going 4.0 innings, allowing five earned runs, walking two and striking out one. She picked up the loss, falling to 1-3 on the season.
How It Happened
The scoring began in the bottom of the 3rd, when Fordham had an RBI fielders choice to make it 1-0. In the following inning, Livesay had a chance to get out of the inning, with two outs and the bases loaded, but conceded a bases loaded clearing triple to Eva Koratsis, blowing the score open to 4-0.
The Rams tacked on more run in that frame, making it 5-0.
Tehya Armstrong came in relief to pitch the final 2.0 innings, allowing zero runs, one hit and striking out two.
North Dakota's bats could not get going, falling 5-0 in the contest. The Hawks will be back in action on Thursday, in Murray, Ky. Against Green Bay at 2:30 p.m.
