| By:
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The hot streak continued for North Dakota women's tennis as the Fighting Hawks rallied against an opponent comeback for a 4-2 victory over the Privateers on Thursday afternoon.

Ethel Li and Jule Schulte kicked it all off for UND from the No. 1 court in doubles play, making quick work with their 6-1 victory. Alyssa Giupponi and Emma Roberts added onto that success with a 6-2 win of their own from the No. 3 position to clinch the doubles point and the 1-0 lead. The match at the middle court—starring Andrea Pineda and Alva Norberg—went unfinished, with UND ahead 4-3.

New Orleans responded by taking the match at the No. 1 court 6-4, 6-0 to tie up the team score. Pineda then put North Dakota back in control with her controlling 6-2, 6-1 win from the No. 3 position before Roberts extended the lead to 3-1 after taking home a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 battle at the fifth spot.

The Privateers took one back from the No. 2 court 6-4, 6-3, bringing the home team within 3-2. But over on the No. 4 spot, Norberg was locked into battle. She took the first in strong fashion, 6-2, before falling 4-6 in the second set. The senior then firmly took control early in the third and cruised to a dominating 6-1 win in the third set.

Norberg's victory clinched the 4-2 win for the Fighting Hawks, leaving the match at the bottom court unfinished for Simone Cameron at 6-4, 5-7, 1-2.

The North Dakota women return home to Choice Health & Fitness to face Kansas City on Friday, March 20 at 5 p.m.
