The loss moves the Fighting Hawks to 12-9 overall this season with a 3-2 conference showing as the Pioneers improve to 13-7 and 5-0.
Doubles play began in favor of the home team after Denver collected a pair of 6-3 wins against the duos of
Alyssa Giupponi and

Alva Norberg and
Andrea Pineda at the No. 2 court. Though the initial 1-0 lead was already clinched,
Ethel Li and

Denver carried that momentum into singles play, winning five of the six one-on-one contests on the top five courts. The Pioneers took a 6-1, 6-0 win from the top spot and soon added in a tight 6-2, 7-5 win from the No. 2 position.
