GRAND FORKS, N.D. - University of North Dakota men's basketball Head Coach Paul Sather announced the addition of wing Zack Parks on Tuesday.

Parks joins NoDak after playing his freshman season at Mid Michigan College where he was named the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Freshman of the Year. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

"Zack is a three-level scoring guard with great size and athleticism," said Sather. "He scored the ball with great efficiency as a freshman at the junior college level and grabbed over seven rebounds per game. He's an aggressive downhill attacking player that got to the free throw line 191 times, but still made 68 three-pointers at 35%.  Zack also makes plays on the defensive side of the floor as he had 66 steals this past season. Zack is a perfect fit for UND and will love our style of play."

He was named the Region Xll District B Tournament MVP, posting a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds in the regional championship against St. Clair County Community College on March 7.

The wing was crucial on the boards for the Lakers, grabbing 10 or more rebounds in seven contests, bringing down a career-high 21 rebounds to go along with 18 points on March 5 against Lake Michigan College.

The future Fighting Hawk was effective in all three levels offensively, shooting the ball at 35% clip from behind the arc, making 2.1 three pointers per contest (68 total). He made at least one 3-pointer in 31 games, banging a career-high six 3-pointers on Nov. 21 against Coastal Alabama – North.
