NOTES: Fighting Hawks Travel to Kansas City for Three-Game Series with Roos

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The North Dakota softball team returns to the diamond for the first time since March 30, taking on the Kansas City Roos this weekend in a three-game series. The contests will take place on Friday at 5 p.m., Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m., with coverage on the Summit League Network.

It is the 25th meeting all-time between UND and Kansas City, with the Roos leading the series 13-11. The Hawks have won six of the last eight meetings, coming off a three-game sweep in the last series, last season in Grand Forks. NoDak outscored the Roos 12-5 in the three games, winning the last matchup by a score of 4-1.

UND sits at 22-14 on the season, dropping three games in Brookings to South Dakota State from March 28 – 30. Overall, the Fighting Hawks have won 19 of their last 26 games, hitting .298 at the plate over that span.

Scouting the Opposition
Kansas City is 12-21 on the season with a 3-6 record in the Summit League. The Roos are coming off a 6-3 loss on Wednesday to Tulsa, but are riding a three-game winning streak in the Summit League, sweeping South Dakota State last week.

The Roos rank outside the top-300 nationally with just two home runs this season, both hit by Megan Johnson. Leilani Bustamante leads the team in batting average at .317, while Delilah Robles owns a 3.48 ERA in the circle. She is second in the Summit League in innings pitched with 98.1.
