MANHATTAN, Kan. – A dominant day from Nathan Peyerl powered the University of North Dakota men's golf team during the final round of the Wildcat Invitational on Tuesday at Colbert Hills Golf Course.

Peyerl fired a four-under 68, tied for the low round of the tournament, to surge 26 spots up the leaderboard and finish tied for 10th overall at four-over-par 220. North Dakota finished 12th in the team standings with a 54-hole score of 914 (302-313-299).

The senior's final-round 68 was just one stroke shy of his career low and included five birdies. Peyerl, who entered the season after recording the best single-season scoring average in program history in 2025-26, collected the fifth top-10 finish of his career with the strong closing effort. He also tied for second in the tournament field with a 3.00 scoring average on the par-3 holes.

Peyerl opened the event with rounds of 76 and 76 before catching fire on Tuesday morning, becoming one of only two players in the field to break 70 during the final round. His 68 matched the lowest round recorded by any competitor during the 54-hole event. 

Carson Skarperud also closed the tournament on a positive note, carding a 75 in the final round to tie for 54th overall at 231. The sophomore posted two rounds of 75 during the event and improved six spots on the leaderboard in the final round.

Tucker D'Allaird matched Skarperud for 54th place at 231 after a closing 78. D'Allaird's opening-round 72 stood as UND's lowest score of the first day, and he finished tied for third in the field with 38 pars over 54 holes.

Kagan Kollar finished one stroke behind his teammates in a tie for 57th at 232, while Carver Larson rounded out the Fighting Hawks' lineup in 73rd place.

St. Thomas captured the team title with an 866, while South Dakota State's Jake Olson earned medalist honors at one-under-par 215.

North Dakota will return to action Sept. 21-22 at the CDA National Reserve Invitational in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
