2024 (Junior): Appeared in 25 games, making 14 starts…threw eight complete games and was second on the team with 95.2 innings pitched…picked up five wins over the course of the season (Nicholls 2/9, Purdue Fort Wayne 2/17, Florida International 3/2, St. Thomas 4/13 and North Dakota State on 4/20)…threw a complete game shutout in her win over NDSU…finished the year with 75 strikeouts, including 31 in conference games which ranked 6th in the Summit League
2023 (Sophomore) – Pitched in 29 games with 15 starts…led team with seven wins as she compiled a 7-10 record…was second on team with a 5.61 ERA…pitched five complete games…picked up a save against St. Thomas on 4/16…pitched a complete game shutout at Kansas City on 4/9…totaled 62 strikeouts on the year with a season high six in three games (vs Massachusetts 2/19, at Kansas City 4/8, vs South Dakota State 4/23)
Before UND: Makaela Carr hails from Smithville, Missouri. She joins North Dakota after a season at Florida International University. The pitcher was ranked #78 in the Extra Innings class of 2021. During her high school career, Carr was named team captain during the 2020 season. She holds the second-place spot for career strikeouts at Smithville High School. During 2020, she earned first team all-conference, first team all-district, first team all-region and was named All-State Pitcher. She helped her team earn a Conference Championship and District Runner-Up. In 2018 and 2019, Carr earned similar honors as she was a member of the first team all-conference, first team all-district and first team all-region as her team earned District Champion during both seasons. As a freshman, she earned second team all-conference and first team all-district. That year, she helped her team earn Conference Champion, District Champion and third place at the State Tournament. Carr was a Missouri/Kansas All-State Game Nominee. Outside of her softball career, she earned All-Conference and All-District honors all four years as a thrower for track. She was a letter winner for wrestling in 2021. Along with her athletic accolades, Carr was a four-time letter winner in FBLA. She was the FBLA Social Media Campaign District Champion in 2019 and in 2020 was the FBLA Social Media Campaign District Champion, State Runner-Up and a National Qualifier. Carr also earned an academic letter her junior and senior year.
