UND Student-Athletes for Inclusion & Diversity (UND SAID)

SAID Ambassadors

Student-Athletes for Inclusion and Diversity (SAID) was created as a student driven organization to foster an inclusive and welcoming campus environment. Selected team ambassadors for SAID will prioritize education, outreach, and engagement for all spectrums of diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Responsibilities of SAID ambassadors includes: attending monthly meetings, design programming options for fellow student-athletes and the campus community, advocate for social justice, assess current team dynamics and climate, and create dialogue between student-athletes and the athletic department.

SAID Ambassadors should be selected with consultation from their coaches and teammates. There are no term limits for this role, but a student will need coach and team approval to serve multiple years as an Ambassador. Individual teams are strongly encouraged to select Ambassadors that are interested in growing SAID objectives and will best serve to represent as an advocate for their team’s culture and dynamics.

Areas of Focus

Education: Ambassadors will create and distribute educational content focusing on diversity, inclusion, and equity.

Outreach: Ambassadors will act as liaisons interacting with other student organizations on the UND campus and the Grand Forks community.

Engagement: Ambassadors will help organize and plan SAID events and campaigns within the athletic department and greater campus community.
