Jason Wagner returns to his alma mater for his first season as an assistant coach with the Fighting Sioux and will work primarily with the defensive line.
Wagner lettered four times at UND as an outside linebacker from 1995 to 1998 and helped lead UND to NCAA postseason appearances in 1995 and 1998 and an NCC championship in 1995.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in secondary education from UND in 1999, Wagner spent two seasons as outside linebackers coach at the University of Mary, where he received his master’s degree in management.
Wagner then served as outside linebackers coach at Minnesota State, Moorhead from 2001-04 and most recently was a teacher and assistant football coach at New Braunfels (Tex.) High School.
