Tim Belmore

Tim Belmore is in his 12th season as wide receivers coach at North Dakota. In 2009, he also added recruiting coordinator to his list of duties.

In 2010, redshirt freshman Greg Hardin burst onto the college football scene, scoring a team-leading 10 touchdowns en route to earning second team All-Great West honors.  Nine of those came through the air and Hardin finished with team highs in receptions (41) and receiving yards (736).

Hardin, who had a trio of 100-yard receiving games in 2010, continued the trend for UND receivers, who have produced big numbers under Belmore’s watch.

In 2009, Ismael Bamba topped the UND roster with 859 receiving yards and ranked third among GWC receivers in receiving yards per game (78.1) and fifth in receptions per game (4.7). Bamba was one of two players in the conference to log more than three 100-yard receiving performances.

As UND’s featured wide receiver in 2008, Brady Trenbeath led UND with 859 yards and eight touchdowns. He ranked among the GWC leaders with four 100-yard contests and was one of three players in the league to record a 200-yard game.

Trenbeath was selected to the 2008 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America second team and was a Great West all-conference team member. After just three years on the roster, Trenbeath finished his career ranked second all-time in receptions (183) and receiving yards (2,341).

Prior to the move to Division I, Weston Dressler became a Harlon Hill Trophy finalist as the top player in Division II football and also became just the fourth player in North Central Conference history to be named to four straight All-NCC first teams. Dressler, who now plays with the CFL’s Saskatchewan Roughriders, graduated with nearly every UND receiving record and in the top 20 in Division II history in receptions and touchdown receptions.

Playing alongside Dressler in 2006, Trenbeath, then a freshman, established UND rookie records for receptions and receiving yards. Belmore tutored the NCC’s receptions leader in three of UND’s last four seasons in the league and produced the league’s receiving yardage leader in 2007.

In 2003, senior wide receiver Willis Stattelman led all NCAA Division II players with 97 catches, while also becoming just the third receiver in school history to total 1,000 receiving yards in a season, joining Ron Gustafson and Jesse Smith.

In 2002, Belmore coached Jesse Smith to the highest receiving yardage total (1,011) since Gustafson’s team-record 1,210 yards in 1973. Smith’s 70 catches were also the second-best ever by a Sioux receiver at the time (now fourth-best) and Smith was named an All-NCC first team selection at the conclusion of the 2002 season.

The previous two years, Belmore worked with Fighting Sioux wide receiver Dan Graf, who earned first team All-NCC honors in 2000 and 2001 and made three All-America teams in 2001.

Prior to UND, Belmore spent two seasons at South Dakota State University, where he was a graduate assistant and coached the wide receivers.

A Bloomington, Minn., native, Belmore attended Gustavus Adolphus College, receiving a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1996. He was a four-year letterwinner and all-conference performer in football. After graduation, he coached for two seasons at Gustavus and served as recruiting coordinator.

Belmore’s younger brother, Chris, was a quarterback for the Fighting Sioux from 2003-06 and ranks among the top 10 in virtually every passing category at UND.
