Bentiu Panoam is in his third season year as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2025-26. He returned to the program after working in the private sector following graduation.
In his second season during the 2024-25 campaign, Panoam got the luxury to coach up his brother Mier Panoam, who averaged 13.0 points per game in route to a All-Summit League Honorable Mention accolade.Â
During his first year back in the program, he coordinated all the travel logistics for road games and helped with practice planning and scheduling. He also worked with the guards, helping lead the trio of Tyree Ihenacho, Treysen Eaglestaff and Eli King to be one of the most dynamic backcourts in the Summit League.
Panoam joined the Fighting Hawks as a player in the fall of 2018, following his first college season at Northwest Kansas Tech. During his career with UND, he made 52 starts in 84 appearances, including 43 straight starts to end his career. He averaged 5.9 points per game, 1.9 rebounds per game and 1.2 assists per game over his four seasons with a .409 shooting percentage from the floor and .370 from downtown.Â
The Anchorage, Alaska, native established himself in a starting role during the 2020-21 season, helping the Fighting Hawks reach the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament by finishing second on the team with 9.4 points per game, including a pair of 20-point outings in wins over South Dakota.
