Erin Haugen, PhD, LP, CMPC, is a licensed clinical psychologist (North Dakota #402 & Minnesota #LP6555) and sport psychologist in Grand Forks, ND. She is passionate about performance psychology, athlete mental health, interprofessional practice, and professional well-being. Her enthusiastic, approachable, and practical style are assets when helping others.
Dr. Haugen has a PhD in clinical psychology and is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant ® (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at River Valley Services/Connecticut Valley Hospital in Middletown, CT and post-doctoral residency at the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA. She works with elite athletes (collegiate, Olympic, professional) from over 20 different sports and specializes in working with athletic departments, student-athletes, coaches, and staff at the collegiate level (NCAA Division I, II, & III; NAIA).
Dr. Haugen is employed at Assessment and Therapy Associates of Grand Forks (ATAGF), PLLC and is a consulting psychologist with collegiate athletic departments. She is an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Psychology at the University of North Dakota and former faculty member (2016-2020) at Altru Family Medicine Residency. She provides mental health and performance psychology training to sports medicine fellows (family medicine & physical therapy) and athletic training students. She provides consultation and mentorship for professionals interested in enhancing their work with athletes or pursuing the CMPC credential. She is a former member (2017-2019) and past-president (2018-2019) of the North Dakota State Board of Psychologist Examiners (NDSBPE).
In her spare time, Dr. Haugen competes in triathlons and enjoys camping and hiking with her husband, Dave, who specializes in couples & relationship therapy, and three border collie mix rescue dogs: Molly, Fromm, and Eddie.
