Alicia Nelson

Alicia Nelson is in her first season as a graduate assistant coach with Fighting Sioux softball.

A 2006 graduate of Minnesota State, Moorhead, Nelson was a three-year letterwinner for the Dragons and was twice named her team's most valuable player. Nelson, a team captain for two years, was a two-year All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team selection at shortstop and set the MSUM single-season record for runs scored with 41. She hit .383 as a senior in 2006.

Nelson also lettered in tennis at MSUM as a freshman and was named her team's most valuable player.

She graduated from MSUM in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in physical education.

A native of Alexandria, Minn., Nelson is a graduate of Alexandria High School where she was a four-year all-conference selection in softball and earned all-state and all-region honors. She also lettered four times in tennis as a prep.

This past summer Nelson was the shortstop for the Women's Class A National Championship Fastpitch team.

Nelson is currently pursuing her master's degree in kinesiology.
