2024 (Senior): Led the team with a .339 on-base percentage, among players with at least 50 at bats, with a .404 career OBP she ranks seventh in program history at the conclusion of the 2024…also led team with 13 stolen bases…set a UND single season record with 14 times hit by pitch, and now has been plunked 21 times in her time at UND, which is fourth in program history…tied for fourth in the conference with two sac bunts and also tied for seventh with one sac fly in Summit League games…hit a homerun at Nebraska and set a season high with three hits and tied her season high with two runs scored…led team with 25 walks and finished second on the team with 19 runs scored
2023 (Junior) – Played in 48 games, starting all of them…named Second Team All-Summit League …finished seventh in the Summit League with a .333 batting average which also led the team…led team with 27 walks and .947 OPS…won Summit League Peak Performer of the Week in the last week of the regular season with an 8-12 weekend against Western Illinois in which she racked up seven RBI and scored six runs, including a game winning two run double…was third on the team with 23 runs scored and 21 RBIS, second with 41 hits, fourth with two home runs
Before UND: Katie Joten joins the Fighting Hawks as a transfer from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. The Little Chute, Wisconsin native earned All-Tournament Team honors for the Horizon League Conference Tournament. The middle infielder/outfielder ended the season at Green Bay with highest honors. Prior to Green Bay, Joten played at Madison College where she ended the season with .415 batting average to help the team make it to the national tournament. Along with her field presence, Joten earned All-Academic First Team at Madison. Through her high school career, she was a three-sport athlete (softball, basketball, and volleyball), which earned her 11 letters with four of those being in softball. Joten was a three-time all-conference selection in the Northeastern Conference, including first team as a junior and sophomore, and second team as a freshman. She was voted Team MVP three straight years and served as team captain her junior year. Outside of her softball career, Joten was a four-time letter winner in basketball and three-time letter winner in volleyball. She was a three-time all-conference recipient in basketball and volleyball. She ended her basketball career in the 1,000-point club. Joten was named team MVP and team captain as a senior in volleyball and was an all-state honorable mention recipient that year. Along with her athletic achievements, she was the class valedictorian.
Personal: Majoring in Biology - Professional Health
