Brad Brekke is in his first season as graduate assistant coach on the Fighting Sioux coaching staff.

A graduate of Velva (N.D.) High School, Brekke was a four-year member of the VHS football, basketball and football teams. Brekke twice received all-region honors in football and basketball and was all-district in basketball his junior and senior seasons. He was a member of Velva High's state runner-up baseball team.

At Minot State, Brekke played on year of basketball for Dick Limke. This past season Brekke was an assistant coach at Velva High for David Peterson.

A 2001 graduate of Minot State with a degree in physical education, Brekke is pursuing a master's degree in educational leadership.
