University of North Dakota head women's basketball coach
Travis Brewster announced
Kristina Bayton as the team's new director of basketball operations in July 2018. Bayton comes to UND after holding various roles at the University of Maryland under Terrapin head coach Brenda Frese.
"Kristina has already hit the ground running," Brewster said at the time of her hiring. "She came highly recommended from Coach Frese and she has already demonstrated to be highly efficient. Another coach from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) said 'wow, she would be a great hire, she will bring a big time feel and she's organized. Kristina does things right.' It's exciting to have her perspective and to have her take the lead on additional day-to-day operations."
In her role at UND, Bayton will be tasked with many of the off-court responsibilities, including team travel, camp registrations, liaison for visiting teams and a host of other duties.
"I am truly honored and thankful to be given the opportunity to join the UND women's basketball family, " Bayton said. "I'm excited to grow on an individual and personal level as this is the furthest I've been from home and my first job post graduation. I'm ready to hit the ground running and excited to see what the midwest has to offer."
Bayton was most recently the assistant director of women's basketball operations in College Park, Md., after also serving at the head manager for the Terrapins. She also took on the assistant director role for their summer camps.
She also has professional experience, serving as a promotional staff intern for the Washington Wizards last season as well as internships with D.C. United, Sport ad Fitness Industry Association and Under Armour. Bayton also is the CEO and CSMO of BLK Customs, a customizable hat and cup business she founded in 2017.
