Nate Baukol is entering his 17th season as North Dakota’s director of strength and conditioning and 21st overall at UND in 2023. In May of 2015, he was named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the CSCCa, which is the highest honor in his profession.

He oversees a full-time staff of three assistant coaches and the year-round training of UND’s 17 sports. He works directly with the football and women’s basketball programs that have both made the full transition from Division II to Division I during his tenure.

During his career, Baukol has worked directly with numerous All-Americans in a variety of sports and a pair of national champion divers at the Division II level. Several of Baukol’s student-athletes have also gone on to enjoy successful professional careers in basketball and football.

Baukol served as assistant strength and conditioning coach at UND from 2002 to 2005 before taking a similar position at the University of Wyoming in May 2006.

A native of Moorhead, Minn., Baukol graduated from Minnesota State Moorhead in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science. He received his master's degree in kinesiology from UND in 2004.

Baukol is a certified strength coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a certified Level I Olympic lifting club coach and is certified in Functional Movement Screen (FMS).

Baukol's family includes his wife (Jennifer), daughters (Emma and Molly) and son (Gunnar).
