Candy Jimenez-Caballero serves as the Director of Communications for North Dakota women’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, softball, and men and women’s golf.
Prior to joining the UND staff in Nov. 2021, Jimenez-Caballero spent the first half of the 2021 season completing an internship as the Director of Hockey Operations for Long Island University in Brookeville, N.Y. There, she served as the primary contact for the men's hockey team as they entered their second season as an NCAA Division I program. She oversaw the team's travel plans, budget, ticketing strategies, day-to-day operations, and social media strategy that included creating graphics, videos and capturing pictures.
Before moving to Long Island, Jimenez-Caballero worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in their Life Skills department. During her time at Nebraska she assisted with community outreach and personal development events, major four-year tiered programming (Networking Night, Career Fair, etc), and promoting a social media presence for the Life Skills program. She also advised individual student-athletes from women’s gymnastics, cross country, track and field and wrestling on their careers outside of athletics. She also partook in diversity and inclusion efforts, which included moderating the annual staff/student-athlete meeting and helping facilitate a women’s history month events.
The Columbus, Neb., native graduated from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln with her Master of Arts in Business with a specialization in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration on Dec. of 2021. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in Dec. of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and a Bachelor’s in Social Work.
