Henrik Sohn

North Dakota Athletics announced on January 3, 2025 that Henrik Sohn has been named the ninth head coach of the North Dakota soccer program.

"UND is excited to welcome Henrik Sohn as the next head coach of our soccer program," said Senior Associate AD, Internal Operations/SWA Liz Jarnigan at the time of his hiring. "His clearly articulated vision for the success of UND soccer was inspiring to the search committee. Additionally, his passion for the student-athletes, the University of North Dakota and the Grand Forks community makes him uniquely qualified for this important leadership role."

Sohn steps into the position after spending last season as the associate head coach at North Dakota, where he guided freshman goalkeeper Grace Miller to All-Summit League Honorable Mention and Summit League All-Newcomer Team honors as well as a spot on the Top-Drawer Soccer Top-100 Freshman ranking at the end of the season as the goalkeepers and backline coach.

Sohn came to North Dakota as an assistant coach in 2023 following a stint at James Madison, serving as the director of operations and assistant coach for one season with the men's program. While there, Sohn provided film analysis and breakdown, assisted in daily training, worked with goalkeepers and helped with recruiting efforts.

Prior to JMU, Sohn had a dominant head coaching career on the women's side at Kansas Wesleyan for four seasons, guiding the Coyotes to a 36-22-2 overall record, including an impressive 29-5-1 mark in league play. His teams finished among the top-2 in the conference standings in all four campaigns while also reaching a pair of NAIA National Tournaments, coaching two players to All-America honors and 30 all-conference selections.

Before taking over the head coaching job at KWU, Sohn served as an assistant for the Coyotes for two seasons and worked primarily with the goalkeepers. His squad once again had success, culminating with a 17-3-2 record and an appearance in the national tournament.

He spent his playing career at the University of Providence, where he was a two-time NAIA Academic All-American selection and helped his team captured a pair of Frontier Conference titles.

Sohn earned his Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance in 2016 from the University of Providence before earning his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2019 from Kansas Wesleyan.
