Craig Mansfield is in his second year as a graduate assistant coach on the UND coaching staff.
Before coming to UND, Mansfield was an assistant coach with the Western Australia Under 20 women’s basketball team. His team finished fourth in Australia, a team record. He also was the head women’s basketball coach of the Swan City Mustangs, of the Women’s State Basketball League. He guided the team to an 8-8 record, which broke a three-year, 73-game losing streak.
When he wasn’t coaching he was playing basketball, as he was a member of the men’s Swan City Mustangs team. He averaged nine points, four rebounds and three assists per game.
Mansfield coached the Lakeside Lightning WABL Under 16 team for two seasons (2001-02), guiding them to two appearences in the state championship game, losing in 2001 and winning it all in 2002. During the 2002 season, he was named the Women’s State Basketball League’s Coach-of-the-Month for July.
Along with coaching the Lakeside Lightning Under 16 team, he was the Lakeside Lightning coach of the Women’s State Basketball League (2001-02). He was selected as the league’s Coach-of-the-Month for July.
