Dan Tannahill

Dan Tannahill is in his second year as head women’s golf coach of the Fighting Sioux.

During the 2005 spring season, Tannahill guided the Sioux to a third-place finish at the NCAA Division II Women’s North Regional. Two of his golfers, Liz Kaler and Alexia Gagnon Laplante, enjoyed top-five regional finishes and qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship as individuals.

During the 2004 fall season, Tannahill and the Sioux finished third at the North Central Conference Championship, where Kaler and freshman Sarah Lucken earned all-conference honors. 

Tannahill is currently employed as the golf manager at King’s Walk Golf Course in Grand Forks. There his duties include managing the entire golf operation as well as serving as the course’s head instructor. He gives private and group lessons and oversees the entire junior golf program for the Grand Forks Park District.

Tannahill has been a member of the PGA of America for 10 years, and he has been teaching the game for more than 13 years.

Prior to taking over at King’s Walk, he spent two years (1997-98) in Eau Claire, Wis., as the head professional at Hillcrest Golf & Country Club. Before that he spent four years (1994-97) in Naples, Fla., as an assistant golf professional at Royal Poinciana Golf Club.

Tannahill was born in Grand Forks and graduated from Red River High School. He went on to UND, where he majored in public relations and played on the Sioux men’s golf team under Rob Stiles from 1987-91. He twice earned All-North Central Conference honors.

Tannahill lives in Grand Forks with his wife, Kelli, and 7-year old son, Jack.
