Mark Olson joins the Fighting Sioux coaching staff after five years in the program as a player.

A native of Minot, N.D., Olson was a three-year starter for Ziegler from 2002-04. Olson holds the school single-season record for most doubles in a season and is fourth in career at bats and defensive assists and fifth all-time in hits and runs scored.

Last season, Olson co-captained the Sioux to their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 11 years.

The 1999 Minot High School graduate is completing his degree in physical education at UND.
