GRAND FORKS, N.D. ? Colorado College forward Brett Sterling scored on a rebound at 1:33 of overtime to lead the seventh-ranked Tigers to a 3-2 win over the sixth-ranked UND men's hockey team on Friday at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
Colorado College is unbeaten with a 5-0-0 overall mark and is 1-0-0 in the WCHA. UND's winless streak was extended to four games (0-3-1). The Sioux are now 4-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the league.
Sterling's goal capped a late rally by Colorado College, which tied the score, 2-2, on a rebound goal by Richard Petiot at 14:16 of the third period.
The two late goals by the Tigers offset the first two-goal game of UND senior Rory McMahon's (Perdue, Saskatchewan) career.
The two teams played a scoreless first period, and Colorado College took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Brady Greco at 12:28 of the second.
McMahon tied it at 18:55 of the second with his third goal of the season and gave the Sioux a 2-1 lead with a power play goal at 1:16 of the third period.
UND outshot the Tigers, 35-24, in the game. Goalie Jordan Parise (So., Faribault, Minn.) stopped 21 of 24 shots for North Dakota, while Curtis McElhinney stopped 33 of 35 for CC.
The two teams will wrap up their series Saturday at 7:07 p.m.
