GRAND FORKS, N.D.-  Junior forward Kristi Boese, with her 28-point performance on Saturday, needs just 18 point to reach 1,000 for her career.  She would become just the 23rd Fighting Sioux women's basketball player to achieve the mark and only the ninth to do so before her senior season.

The Rochester, Minn. native was an All-NCC selection last season, leading the Sioux to the North Central Regional Finals and a 27-6 record.  Her 525 points in the 2003-04 campaign ranked in the top 20 all-time for one season at UND.

Boese is averaging 16.8 points per game this season, second-best on the team. 

Boese has amassed 521 rebounds in her Fighting Sioux career, and upon surpassing the 1,000-point mark would become just the 14th Sioux to tally 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
