Lee DeKrey and
Kristy Keithley each finished in fifth place for the UND men's and women's cross country teams this afternoon at the Wayne State College Pre-Region Open today in Wayne, Neb.
DeKrey finished the 10K run in 33 minutes, 58 seconds to help the Fighting Sioux to a third-place finish. South Dakota's Tyler Wetering won the event with a time of 32:44. South Dakota also won the event the men's event.
Also finishing in the top 20 for the Sioux was Richie Spitsburg in 15th place, Jeremy Jones in 17th place and Nathan Nordlund in 20th. Kyle Rosseau and Patrick Mahoney also finished at 22nd and 23rd.
Keithley finished the women's 6K run in 23 minutes, 16 seconds, as the Sioux took fourth place. Ramsey Kavan, an unattached runner, won the event with a time of 22:16. Overall, Augustana won the event.
Other top runners for the Sioux included Callie Malone at ninth place, Margaret Landberg at 16th and Kristi Dahlheimer at 17th. Tika Baker and Erica Fossum placed 23rd and 24th to round out UND's top five runners.
