Sioux remain No. 1 in USA Today/ESPN poll

GRAND FORKS, N.D.--For the fourth consecutive week the Fighting Sioux women's basketball team (23-1, 6-0 NCC) is ranked No. 1 in the nation according to the latest USA Today/ESPN Division II Women's Basketball Top 25, released earlier today.

UND received 18 of a possible 25 first-place votes and garnered 609 total points. Missouri Western held on to its No. 2 ranking with four first-place votes and 602 points. Fourth-ranked Florida Gulf Coast received the remaining three first-place votes.

The Sioux ran their winning streak to 18 games with road wins at Minnesota State last Thursday and at eighth-ranked Augustana on Saturday. UND has now won a school-record 24 straight road games and 24 straight North Central Conference games and will conclude a three-game road swing on Thursday with a game at St. Cloud State.
