Tape-Delay TV: Friday and Saturday on Wisconsin Public Television with Robb Vogel and Theran Welsh (Friday)/Ron Vincent (Saturday) (tape delayed at 10:30 p.m.)
Web: Live video (Friday) and audio at UWBADGERS.COM.

On the road again: No. 3/4 North Dakota (4-2-1 overall, 2-2-0 WCHA) will take to the road for the third time in five weeks this weekend, traveling to Madison, Wis., for a two-game Friday-Saturday series against 10th-ranked Wisconsin.

Series to feature top-ranked defense vs. No. 2 offense, top specialty teams units: This weekend's series will pit the nation's leading scoring defense (North Dakota/1.29 average goals allowed per game) against the nation's second-leading scoring offense (Wisconsin/4.67 average goals scored per game). It will also be a matchup of the nation's top power play (Wisconsin/34.4 percent) and sixth-best penalty kill (North Dakota/94.1 percent).

Big arena, ice surface: UND will be playing in an arena (Kohl Center) that has the largest seating capacity (15,237) of any college team in the nation. This is Wisconsin's 10th season playing in the Kohl Center. Since the Badgers' men's hockey team began playing there in 1998-99, Wisconsin has led the nation every year in average attendance. Last season the Badgers averaged 14,430 fans per game.

This will also be UND's first games this season on an Olympic-sized ice surface  (Boston College's rink is 200 x 87 and Northeastern's is 200 x 90, while Wisconsin lists its Kohl Center rink dimensions at 200 x 97 feet). Last season the Fighting Sioux were 7-4-1 in 12 games on Olympic-sized ice sheets.

Series with Wisconsin: Wisconsin leads the all-time series 79-56-10. UND has lost three in a row to Wisconsin, and the Fighting Sioux are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games overall against Wisconsin. The Sioux are 4-10-0 all-time at the Kohl Center and are 1-5 in their last six games in Madison.

In last season's two-game series in Madison (Oct. 13-14, 2006), UND beat the Badgers 3-2 in overtime in the Friday night game on a goal by Darcy Zajac and then lost 1-0 to Wisconsin the next night. Wisconsin came to Grand Forks last December (Dec. 8-9) and swept the Sioux (4-3, 4-2).

Wisconsin notes: The Badgers are coming off a weekend home split against Michigan Tech. The Huskies won 4-2 on Friday, and UW came back with a 4-2 win on Saturday. The Badgers have the leading freshman scorer in the nation in Kyle Turris, who has 13 points (5g, 8a) in six games. Junior forward Ben Street has 10 points (3g, 7a) and senior defenseman Kyle Klubertanz has eight points (4g, 4a), including goals in each of the last four games.

Sioux ranked No. 3/4 in national polls: UND dropped one spot in both national polls this week. The Sioux were ranked third in this week's USCHO national poll and fourth in the USA Today poll.

Back-to-back splits: UND has split both of its WCHA series this season, splitting at Michigan Tech (3-1 loss, 6-0 win) on Oct. 26-27 and splitting at home against Colorado College this past weekend (6-2 win, 4-1 loss).

End of home unbeaten streak: North Dakota's 6-2 win over the Tigers on Friday extended their home unbeaten streak to 11 games (8-0-3) dating back to last season, but the streak was snapped on Saturday, when CC beat the Sioux 4-1. The loss to CC on Saturday was UND's first home loss since Dec. 16, 2006, when Michigan Tech beat UND, 3-2.

Hot goalie: After shutting out opponents for nine periods and 185:17 to start the season, UND goalie Jean-Philippe Lamoureux (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) put up another streak lasting 91:28 before Colorado College's Billy Sweatt scored 1:06 into the second period on Friday. He has shut out UND opponents in 13 of 20 periods this season.

Lamoureux stopped 23 of 25 CC shots to post his fourth win of the season. On Saturday Lamoureux stopped 18 of 21 Tigers shots in a 4-1 loss.

For the season, Lamoureux is 4-2-1 with a 1.06 goals against average and .958 save percentage.

Lamoureux makes history:  According to research by the UND athletics media relations office, since the WCHA started up as the Midwest Collegiate Hockey League (MCHL) in the 1951-52 season, no goaltender in league history until Lamoureux recorded four shutouts in his team's first five games. Furthermore, he helped UND become the first team to post shutouts in four of its first five games of a season since 1928-29 and only the fourth all-time (records include all current Division I programs).

Player of the Month: Lamoureux was named the Hockey Commissioners Association national player of the month for October after posting four shutouts in UND's first five games of the season. Lamoureux is the first UND player ever to receive an HCA honor.

Lamoureux start streak continues:
Lamoureux started both games of the weekend series at Michigan Tech, extending his consecutive start streak to 32 games, tying for the second-longest in school history and tied for the second-longest active streak in the nation among NCAA Division I goalies.

In his 32-game starting streak, Lamoureux is 21-6-5 with a 1.97 goals against average and .929 save percentage.
