GRAND FORKS, N.D.--The Fighting Sioux women's basketball team remain the top-ranked team in the North Central Region heading into Saturday's regular season finale at Minnesota Duluth, according to the latest regional rankings released today by the NCAA.
UND, ranked fourth nationally, clinched a share of its third consecutive North Central Conference regular season championship with a win last Saturday in Nebraska-Omaha, the first time the Sioux have ever won three straight league crowns. The Sioux can claim the title outright with an Augustana loss to South Dakota tonight, or with a UND win against UMD.
The Sioux enter Saturday's game 26-3 overall and 9-2 in conference play.
