UND honors 2007 Letterwinners Association Hall of Fame inductees

UND Athletics and the UND Letterwinners Association are pleased to announce the 2007 Hall of Fame Induction Class. UND will celebrate the Hall of Fame during Potato Bowl weekend, this Saturday, Sept. 15. The Hall of Fame banquet will be held at 6 p.m., in the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.

 

This year's individual inductees are: Laurie Bakke (women's basketball '78-'82); Andy Dahlen (football '77-'80); Jim Goodrich (men's basketball '73-'76); Dan Clausen (men's basketball '80-'82); Marion (Warner) Nielson (women's swimming and diving '87-'91) and Margie Hutson Evers (women's track and field '81-'84).

 

Team inductees are the 1979 football team, the 1982 men's basketball team and the 1989 women's swimming and diving team.

 

Dave Gunther, head men's basketball coach from 1971-88, will receive an Honorary Letterwinner Award and Head Men's Hockey Coach Dave Hakstol will be honored with the Thomas J. Clifford Award.

 

Tickets to the Hall of Fame banquet are available by calling Meghan at (701) 777-2611. You can also purchase a ticket at the Sioux Boosters luncheon at the Alerus Center on Friday at noon, or at the Hall of Fame social on Friday evening at 6 p.m., at the CanadInn. Tickets to the Hall of Fame banquet are $25.  

 

Inductees will be introduced at half-time of the Fighting Sioux football game on Saturday vs. Central Washington.

The UND Foundation is the sister corporation of the University of North Dakota Alumni Association and was organized to receive alumni and other private gifts for the benefit of UND.
