Latest WBCA national poll pegs UND sixth

GRAND FORKS, N.D.--The Fighting Sioux women's basketball team heads into its final North Central Conference game on Saturday ranked sixth in the latest USA TODAY/ESPN top 25 women's basketball poll, released today by the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA).

UND slid three spots from the previous week after losing at South Dakota last Thursday and defeating Nebraska-Omaha at home on Saturday. USD, which has handed the Sioux both of their defeats this season, moved into the No. 3 spot previously held by UND.

Unbeaten Delta State and Seattle Pacific remain the top two ranked teams the nation. Holy Family and Drury, who were both tied for sixth last week, are now ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.

UND and South Dakota are the only two NCC teams appearing in this week's poll.

The Sioux will close out the regular season on Saturday when they host Minnesota Duluth at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
